What is the vision of our school?

Which curriculum does the school follow?
DSGS follows the CBSE curriculum.
What are the school timings?
School timings are 8:30 am to 12:30 pm for Pre Primary (Nursery, LKG, UKG) and 8:30 am to 3:30 pm for primary and middle school students.
How many students are there per section?
We have 25 students per section for the Pre-Primary wing, where the student-teacher ratio is 12:1. We provide qualified associate teachers for each section along with the mother teacher in Grades Nursery to II. We strive to maintain a number of 30 Students in each class for Primary and Middle School, where the student-teacher ratio is 15:1.
What is Pre-primary teaching/learning philosophy and curriculum?
The pre-primary curriculum is a joyful mix of fun-filled activities. Children will learn and explore in their comfort zone. We believe in a child-centric way of learning. Learning also happens outside the classroom.
How do you support high achievers and low achievers?
Teachers at DSGS will identify the low achievers and then motivate them by giving extra aid or explanation and helping them improve step by step.
High achievers are provided special assignments, encouraged to learn through experiments, they get opportunities where they can choose what activity to work on etc.
Subject enrichment sessions are conducted for underperformers.

What is your homework policy?
The purpose of homework is to reinforce skills learned at school by providing practice at home. Homework assignments will be given in such a way that the student will be able to complete them to the best of their ability all by themselves. We follow a homework grid with standard 2/3 subject homework per day.

Is there a transition period for my child?
We will start the first day with an exercise for children where they are involved in activities and have fun. It will help them adapt to unfamiliar settings. We give the children enough time to make the transition gradually, as it is the best way to avoid stressful situations.
Is the school co-educational?

Is technology used to support teaching and learning at this school?

How often will there be PTMs?
There will be a PTM periodically. Approximately 6 PTMs will be held in an academic session.
Other than a PTM, when can a parent interact with the teacher?
We consider parents as an integral part of the education process, and they are free to meet teachers and the principal with prior appointment.
How does the school communicate with the parents?
Communication can happen through Phone, Email, Diary notes, and Parent app, or the parent can also walk in for further assistance.
A communication matrix will be shared with parents; they can reach out as per the matrix.
Does the school participate in Inter-school competitions?
Yes, at DSGS, the students are encouraged to be part of competitions to build competitive spirit.
Students who play competitive sports demonstrate more confidence, leadership and self-respect, which is much needed.
What are the different sports activities in your school?
We have a sports academy, where we have tennis, table tennis, basketball, cricket, volleyball, throwball, athletic track, indoor games, skating, etc.
What are the activities or play opportunities you provide to develop gross and fine motor skills?
Both gross motor skills and fine motor skills are needed for children to engage in creative activities such as dance and art. They are important for health as children need to be active. Activities like rolling, kneeling, crawling, walking, running, jumping, skipping, outdoor play activities etc., will be exercised for pre-primary students.
Does the school have a library facility for kindergarten?
Our school encourages reading habits in children from a very young age. We have a separate section in the library for Pre-primary children furnished according to the needs of that age group; even the books are handpicked for them.
Do students learn outside the textbooks?
Students will be given scope to explore different sources to gather information, such as libraries, the internet, group discussions, experiential learning etc.
How future-ready is your school?
The curriculum at DSGS is completely aligned with NEP-2020. At DSGS, we provide them with a curriculum that is future-ready and which fosters 21st-century skills in students.
Does the school conduct any excursions or field trips?
Excursions and field trips are a part of the learning process and are organised accordingly.
Does the principal interact with the students?
Principal interaction with students happens regularly. Students recognise the principal as an ally within the school, which helps the principal to stay connected with the needs of the students.
Are the students encouraged to participate in the Olympiad and other competitive exams?
Yes, we encourage every student to participate in all the competitive exams, and proper guidance is provided during preparation.
How skilled are your teachers?
The recruitment process is handled by a team of experts. Only after the thorough verification of the credentials, the selection process is concluded.
Our teaching staff has hands-on experience in this field. They are provided with smart-teaching training for 30 days before they take up the classes.
Do you have a career counsellor on your campus?
Yes. We do have a certified counsellor on the school premises as per the norms of the CBSE.
How many teachers are CPR and First-aid trained?
All our teachers are given basic first aid and CPR training.
We also have a Medbay where experienced medical staff are available throughout the time.
What's your take on bullying?
We take a proactive approach to bullying. It is dealt with immediately and firmly.
Once the management has been made aware of the problem by a student or parent, we investigate the issue and counsel the students accordingly.
We also keep the parents informed about the status of the issue.
What is your discipline policy?
DSGS believes in preventive, supportive, and corrective discipline policies where children are monitored and counselled by the teachers and the special educator in case needed.
How do you monitor the students' discipline on the school bus?
A trained female attendee will accompany the students during the commute.
Does the school have provision for lunch and snacks for the students?
No. Children should carry lunch and snacks from home.
Will the school authorities be taking adequate measures to ensure hygiene in the school?
At our school, we maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene. The school admin monitors hygiene regularly. Housekeeping staff are allotted floor-wise duties, and they are supervised by the supervisor and admin officer.
What is the kind of security offered to the students?
The entire campus is in well-monitored CCTV surveillance. Students are always accompanied by teachers or monitored by the admin and support staff throughout the campus.

How do you hand over the students at dispersal?
We follow the parent/guardian authorization card system.
Parents should carry the card when they come to pick up their ward. Children will be handed over at the parent pick-up point by the mother teacher/class teacher.
Do you provide admission for overseas students?

What is the admission assessment for?
The assessment is not a criterion for admission but to help understand creating the child's portfolio accordingly.
What documents are needed for admission?
The documents required are as follows -
Birth certificate (if applicable), Transfer certificate
2 passport-size photographs of the student and 1 passport-size photo of the parents/guardian
Aadhar card of Parent/guardian and student
Bonafide, study and conduct certificate
Does the school follow an ERP app to communicate with parents?
You will receive a unique login ID and password, which will take you to the Parent Dashboard, where with one click, you can access data such as circulars, fees, homework, GPS of school transport, gallery, attendance, timetable etc.
