Celebrating The Festive & Cultural Significance Of Bonalu
Bonalu is a festival traditionally celebrated in the state of Telangana during the month of Ashadham. The festival has a long and historical significance with the twin cities and deals with paying obeisance to Mahakali. The festival is traditionally celebrated by women and involves honouring Goddess Kali by offering her rice cooked with milk and jaggery in a pot adorned by neem leaves, turmeric, and vermillion (indoor).
At DSGS, we helped students understand the traditions and history behind Bonalu as well as celebrate this beautiful festival.
